About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Tarzana on Ventura Boulevard, Little Cafe is a charming neighborhood spot that has earned a devoted following for its unbeatable all-day breakfast and comforting lunch fare. This family-owned gem exudes a warm, old-school Los Angeles vibe, making every visit feel like stepping into a friend’s kitchen where the aromas of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling omelets instantly welcome you.

The menu is a lovingly curated collection of classic breakfast favorites and hearty lunch dishes, with standout offerings that reflect both tradition and thoughtful flair. Picture the Supreme Omelet, brimming with ground beef, fresh mushrooms, spinach, and onions, perfectly melted under a blanket of Jack cheese — a savory powerhouse that satisfies deeply. For a fresh, garden-inspired option, the Vegetarian Omelet combines zucchini, tomato, spinach, and mushrooms, creating a colorful, vibrant plate topped with creamy Jack cheese. Another must-try is the Ortega Green Chile Omelet, which brings a gentle kick with Ortega chile peppers and a cool dollop of sour cream.

Simplicity shines through in their Steel Cut Oatmeal, served with plump raisins and brown sugar, delivering a warm, comforting start to the day. The Lox Sandwich on a bagel, topped with luscious cream cheese, tomatoes, and sliced nova lox, balances indulgence with sophistication and is perfect for those craving a lighter yet flavorful bite.

The inviting, casual atmosphere complements the delicious food perfectly. Seating for around 55 inside includes cozy two- and four-top tables, ideal for intimate conversations or catching up with friends. One of the cafe’s charms is the open kitchen, allowing diners to witness the skilled staff work their culinary magic with friendly efficiency. The staff’s genuine warmth and attentiveness, as many regulars can attest, create an inviting, community-focused environment. It’s not uncommon to hear customers greeted by name, which only adds to the welcoming charm.

Customers rave about the experience here, with many highlighting Ray and the attentive team behind the counter as integral to the cafe’s unique spirit. Whether it’s the comforting warmth of a freshly brewed cup of coffee with unlimited refills or the satisfying crunch of crispy hash browns served alongside a fluffy omelet, every visit promises a meal crafted with care and passion.

Do note that Little Cafe operates on a cash-only or Venmo basis, which is a minor detail overshadowed by the quality and value delivered on every plate. For those who love honest, flavorful food served with a genuine smile in a quaint yet lively setting, Little Cafe is a Tarzana treasure not to be missed.

So, so good! Lots of parking outside with seating for about 55 inside with only four- and two-seater tables available. Open kitchen so you can watch the magic happen with a great staff. Breakfast served all day with lunch and dinner fare available, and everything is good at a decent price. Incredibly friendly employees that know half the customers that walk in by their first names; you can definitely tell it's family run and take care of their employees. Highly recommended for breakfast if you're in the area, beware of busy times (like Sunday afternoons) since it fills up fast and if you have a large group you might should look elsewhere.

The Best Little Cafe there ever was! Ray is the man! And so is all the staff. Such a friendly little place to eat with a really old school L.A. feel. Go here and get the club or anything else because it's all delicious and I can't say enough good things about it!

One of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots in all of LA. Family owned and operated, been in business for a long time serving the best breakfast and lunch anywhere! Quaint, excellent food and service! Accepts cash only.

CASH OR VENMO ONLY I sat inside with my service dog and they were super friendly! A server brought some small biscuits which my dog gladly ate. I got a Joel's Benedict with special home fries, and black coffee (free refills of course). I had 3 cups of their coffee which was quite tasty and I scarfed down the Benedict! One knock against the stars since they don't take credit (I want my points!). 1 hour street parking nearby or free street parking on Sundays! Don't park in the tiny lot because it's for the grocery store.

Very nice little cafe offering a variety of breakfast items such as omelettes, fries and desserts. I tried Christina's Omelette along with sourdough bread, hash browns and cafe & all were tasty. This is a cash only place so make sure you have cash or you can use the ATM inside to withdraw money.

Excellent little place for passing time and having breakfast or lunch. Nice menu with a good selection of items. Portions are good and the food is fresh and prepared well. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is warm, conveying a earthy environment. Very welcoming. Many locals come here and expect to wait for a seat. It is routinely crowded and a little noisy. Cash only.

About 3 weeks ago I was at work nearby, I wanted to fill up my tank and decided to come here. The lady who took my order is very friendly. As there are a couple of tables available outside I couldn't say no to enjoy the view and weather. As it was my first time and the menu has many options, I wasn't sure what to order and it took a little bit time to decide. However this lady kept checking on me without rushing me. Finally made up my mind and ordered scrambled , didn't take too long to get my order and it was amazingly delicious. The lady is super helpful and friendly forgot her name, while I was eating she kept checking on me, despite was busy inside. Make sure to bring cash or Vemo or any other methods of payment except credit card. I did zelle. And i'd say a scramble with a cup of coffee expecting to pay around $ 23 dollars but is totally worth it and the portion is quite good. Looking forward to try this cafe again if I'm around the area .
